We are consistently amazed and appreciative of Katy’s work with our son, who was born three months premature and has fine motor, gross motor, attention and sensory issues. She is not only warm and playful, but we truly see both the science and art of her approach.
She is always coming up with new and innovate ways of building upon our child’s skills, and adapting to his responses so that he is engaged but also not pushing him too far so that he is turned off by an activity.
Most importantly, our son loves his session with Katy. He asks for her and looks forward to their time together. To him, she’s a great play mate who brings cool toys or shows him fun new games. To us, she’s a kind and collaborative coach, teaching us new skills and tools to best support our child’s development. It feels like she genuinely cares about his success, whether it be climbing a ladder, turning knobs or getting him to wear a helmet. His victories are ours together.

There are so many things to say about Katy. Her compassion and commitment to helping kids is at the top of the list. I’ve watched her with my daughter work to find different ways to challenge and excite her while making sure she is working hard to achieve her goals.
OT is such a large range of things and yet Katy seems to have knowledge about them all. I loved all of the different exciting things she would come up with to make each session fun and interactive. The relationship she forms with kids only helps them work harder and I loved our time with her.
